What is the purpose of an alternating pressure mattress pad?
Providing relief from bedsores and other skin problems caused by extended bed rest, the alternating pressure mattress pad sits on top of your existing mattress. It promotes increased circulation while reducing skin breakage. The variable pressure mattress pad evenly distributes body weight to relieve pressure spots for exceptional support and comfort. Perfect for immobilized or weak patients who cannot shift their weight frequently.

How do I know if my patient needs an alternating pressure mattress pad?
An alternating pressure mattress pad should use alternating for patients who are likely to spend more than 15 hours per day in bed or classified as medium to high risk of developing pressure ulcers or bedsores. People at higher risk are typical: seriously ill; not mobile; have spinal cord injury; do not eat a proper diet; wear prosthesis; smoke; are incontinent of stool or urine; have diabetes; have COPD or heart failure; have Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, or heart failure; or have a broken hip or have had recent hip surgery.
What happens if all air lost due to no electricity? Does the mattress deflate?
This is a low air loss mattress and will stay inflated up to 24 hours in a power outage.
How do I adjust the firmness or softness of my alternating pressure mattress?
The air pressure can be adjusted using the dial on the air pump to the desired firmness level.
Do the air cells cycle?
Yes, they do cycle. The air-filled channels alternate from inflating to deflating to help vary the pressure and reduce the risk of pressure sores and ulcers.
What is the cycle time?
The air cycle time is approximately 6 minutes.
What is the pressure range?
The air pressure range is 30 to 130 mmHg.
How loud is the pump?
The pump is very quiet, producing only a slight hum as the air pressure alternates.
Is the pump compatible with 220 volts?
No, the pump is not compatible with 220 volts. It used standard 110V only.
How do I clean my alternating pressure mattress?
To clean your mattress, first, disconnect the compression pump from the electrical outlet. Use a lint-free cloth with mild detergent or disinfectant solution to wipe down the cover and air bladders as needed. Carefully dry the mattress with a soft towel and allow the mattress to air dry completely before replacing the cover. It can also wipe it down the mattress with alcohol wipes or light rubbing alcohol.
Can I remove the mattress cover?

The mattress cover includes a “head” and “foot” icon for proper positioning.
Can you buy replacement bladders for the mattress?
If an air bladder is not properly inflating, try resetting the pump to ensure it is working correctly. If this does not resolve the issue, the air pressure mattress includes a replacement air bladder will detailed instructions and a patching kit if a small puncture is detected.
What sizes do the air mattresses come in?
This is a twin size-mattress that securely fits a standard hospital bed frame. The mattress dimensions are 34” x 77” x 5”. A deep, 8” twin-size mattress is also available.
How do I patch my alternating pressure mattress if it gets a leak?
Does the mattress fit a hospital bed?
Yes, the mattress fits standard hospital bed frames, as well as twin bed frames.
How thick is this mattress?
When fully inflated, the air mattress is 5” thick.
Is the pressure mattress latex-free?
Yes, this mattress is latex-free.
Can I fix a punctured tube?

Currently, the mattress and pump are only sold as a pair.
What is the weight limit of this mattress?
The 5” alternating pressure mattress topper supports up to 320 pounds.
Does the pump need to stay on the floor?
The air pressure pump included two non-marking hooks to allow the pump to be secured on the headboard or footboard for easy access.
How big is the pump?
The pump is 3.5” in height, 4” wide, and 10” in length.
